NEETU CHANDRA-SUCCESS KE LIYE KUCH BHI KAREGA MAN!!!
When NEETU CHANDRA just one more pretty girl from Patna landed in Mumbai-all she had was lofty dreams in her eyes to make it big in Bollywood and for that she had just a theater background back home and had been a lesser known model who was keen to step into the top league.
Except for the fire in her belly and dreams in her eyes there was little she had to make her dreams come true but that wasn't going to keep this gutsy girl down. She knew only too well that she had to rise above the mediocre to get noticed else she would burn herself out as an aspiring struggler.
To get noticed in Bollywood without landing on the casting couch she had to create waves and for that she got herself a real bold eye-popping photo-session with one of the best photographers in the industry even though she could not afford his fees yet she raised the money and went ahead.
No sooner was her portfolio out that she shifted gears and circulated her pictures to all those who mattered and soon modeling assignments started to pour in and she had no reservations or any hesitation so long as there was no hanky panky business and she got paid what she expected.
Sooner than later producers started to sit up and take notice of this bold and ambitious aspiring actress who refused to take no for an answer and yet refused to play ball either. When she got a call to audition from Priyadarshan's office for his next feature film opposite John Abraham and Akshay Kumar, she took it for granted that someone was pulling her leg and refused to respond.
It was much later when she got a call telling her to reach Bangalore for the audition and start shooting for his film did it register that this was serious business.Having nothing to lose she asked for her airline ticket to be sent across and a few hours later she was actually on the sets of 'Garam Masala' in Bangalore auditioning. She could hardly believe her eyes that she would have heart throbs Akshay Kumar n John Abraham for her heroes in her debut film. The fact that there were two more heroines in the film and Neha Dhupia was doing a sizzling item song with both the hunks hardly bothered NEETU CHANDRA.
Keeping Priyadarshan's past track record in mind sure enough 'Garam Masala' went on to be a roaring hit but it were the heroes who benefited the most from it's success. After all they hype and hoopla of the film's success Daisy Bopanna & Nargis returned back from where they had come down South but NEETU was very much here to stay even if it meant doing low profile B-grade movies like One Two Three and Oye Lucky Lucky Oye.
Even though she managed to get into Madhur Bhanderkar's Traffic Signal the film was too low key while the super sucess of Oye Lucky went to Abhay Deol in the lead role. That was when she opted to shift base down south when meaty offers started to land in her kitty. While the move threw open the floodgates to prove her mettle as an actress of repute in the long run, on a short term basis word spread fast that NEETU CHANDRA was reduced to doing small roles and her absence only fueled the rumours. Even though NEETU CHANDRA was bagging films with superstars and gathering super-hits back home she was hardly heard about.
That was when she decided to get herself a publicist who could speak on her behalf and let the industry know that his client had not vanished but was just a phone call away. Even though she could not afford the services of a reputed publicist like Dale Bhagawar who boasted of clients like Hrithik Roshan, Sherlyn Chopra,Vivek Oberoi and most important Shilpa Shetty whom he transformed into an international celebrity.
So once again she raised the funds and hired Dale Bhagawar and sure enough it proved to be a move she would not have to look back at with regret. With Dale managing her stagnating career in Mumbai once again NEETU CHANDRA had ample time to focus on her acting while he took care of her socialising and sure enough her career was on the upswing. Not only was she transformed into a Page 3 red carpet celebrity but even returned to her modeling in a big way and this resulted in her getting several up market fashion shows
as also product launches and openings. Indeed NEETU CHANDRA had arrived and how!!
